My FP2: 9 years and counting

My FP2 turned 9 years old last Sunday:

It is still my only Android phone, running DivestOS, and used as a backup phone (my daily driver phone has a Debian based OS).

Everything is still working well

Edit: Thank you for the new badge

Nice, I gave my old FP2 to my mother, which only uses WhatsApp on it with Android. Still in use in Spain with Simyo SIM card. A bit sluggish but bearable for her, she says. I had another FP2 but the microphone in the bottom module failed, so I keep it for spare parts of this other one in operation.

Congrats!
My FP2 turned 9 at the end of December, but it suffers from spontaneous reboots, so it’s just my spare phone now.
The FP3 is running great

Great to read that!
My wife is using my old FP2 in third hand as only smart phone. Bought by a friend in 2015…
With LOS and using it only as phone and for usb-tethering, no direct internet usage. No signal, no whatsapp. So no cpu speed problems.
I’m using FP3 second hand and I’m happy as well.

Mine also 9 years in use. Since DivestOS support ended I succesfully installed Sailfish OS. Phone is now used as backup since the version of Sailfish does not support Android apps. Also batteryhealth is poor.
I bought a secondhand Iphone SE 2020 because of its small size. I’m not happy with the bulky size of most modern smartphones

Sadly the main reason I’m giving up on mine before it ever turns 10 is because it can no longer make phone calls here due to 3G being phased out and the GSM antenna being poorly connected on a good day.
Otherwise I might find a niche for it to randomly reboot and bouncily charge and no longer register right-edge-of-screen taps in around my flat somewhere. Perhaps a jukebox.
How did you get that shiny badge?
