I have an issue with Messenger and Instagram, I’m not even sure this is purely related to Fairphone but I don’t receive notifications anymore unless I click on the App to launch it.
I tried to reinstall both of the App, and it is still not working.
Problem appeared before december update and is still here after updating.

have you checked the data saver and the battery saver options? Easiest way to get there is long pressing the app icon and choosing “App info”.
