My FP6 is brand new and I have just set it up. I ordered it as degoogled.
I can’t launch any apps that I have installed. They either won’t connect, or will give me the popup I quoted in the title. I’ve looked all over the place and I have no idea what to do. Solutions seem to often mention rooting my phone, but isn’t it already rooted?
If that is the case, you are likely to obtain more info over on the /e/OS community forum. Bear in mind that de-googling may come at a certain cost of “compatibility” in the eyes of some app publishers, in particular banks, insurance, gov etc.
Could you cite one or two examples (outside of the categories I’ve just cited)?
No phones are sold rooted by Fairphone or Murena (as far as I know …)
[Edit] – Error messages such as the one you quote are not to be trusted as a full diagnosis. In speaking of a “rooted device” the developer probably just means insufficient authenticity, often caused by rooting.
