Is the source code of the My Fairphone application available?

Is so, where? If not, why? – FP are generally quite consistent with releases of their source, even if in a somewhat archaic manner. However, I’ve been unable to locate the source for this application, despite it being so important for managing their hardware, and their OEM partnership with FOSS /e/OS.

"Will the app be open source?
There are no current plans to make the app open source as it requires Google API’s to work."

Please elaborate … how is the App so important in these two regards? Especially in the latter, when …

"Can I use the app on an alternative operating system such as /e/OS?
No. […]"

(I never had this App and I’m somehow not feeling like missing out.)

@AnotherElk, you’re right. I accidentally conflated com.fairphone.myfairphone with com.fairphone.android.fairbudsapp. The primary use case of the former is to allow a user to easily manage, and register for, extended warranties.

Though, for the Fairbuds application, the situation appears identical:

That is important, and sad.

Ok but as there is already a topic i will close here, if you want to discuss further, the old topic is open again.
