IR blaster for FP2

Is an IR blaster available for the FP2 please? If not, please can one be made available? I used my old android as a remote for my second-hand TV. Any TV remote app I download will only work on my new FP2 via WiFi, but the TV is not WiFi enabled. I can do most things on the TV manually, but I cannot change the input source. Please don’t tell me I need to keep my old phone for this!

Was the IR part built in or did you use extra hardware which now doesn’t work with the Fairphone 2?

Apparently there is IR hardware available for the headphone socket as well as for the micro USB port.
Interesting, I didn’t know that.

You could use my diy extension PCB, add an IR-transmitter and program some APP and some code for the atmega32u4  should be no problem

@Cherry97 would it be possible to make a IR-Blaster which you could plug into your headphone jack? I don’t use my headphone jack for listening to music, but sometimes the TV remote is sooo faaar awaaay …
… so it would be great to use your phone as a remote (I have a smart TV, but the Sony remote app is very bad and I’d need another app for the digitalTV-box and a third app for the speakers and so on).

Is this possible, or does it just

I could not find other alternatives to this tiny hardware type from somewhere here in Europe. I am not sure if it is even worth this low prize.
Maybe someone else was successful here.
