Hi Gert, you are right, this surprises me also and I immediately emailed the Consumentenbond to ask for clarification. As a member I can see testscore details. Itâs rather unbelievable to see the Apple get a 9.8 (out of 10!) for company sustainability and Fairphone a 8.9.

We must insist on a reply, otherwise they are going on with their business as usual.
The problem is that the evaluations (eindcijfers, beoordelingen) are not explained, there are no sources on which those evaluations are based. So I donât know if Consumentenbond just copies what is on the website of Apple about sustainability and take it for the truth.
PS recently I discovered that laptop tests (Notebooks) ignore Framework notebook, and non-repairable laptops get the highest rankings (accidentally always Apple!).

Hello Gert, I just had a quick scroll through your Consumentenbond blog and see you already made a great effort in this issue. In my email I stated I would appreciate an article in which they explain their test-ratings on sustainability and I received an answer that they could not guarantee this but that my question has been send to the experts.
Oneerlijke vergelijking gezien een Apple 15 Pro Max veel duurder is. Dat is het neusje van de zalm van hun flagship, toch?
Ook kun je bij zoân Apple 15 variant de materialen moeilijker van vervangen. Al is dat tegenwoordig wel makkelijker gemaakt.
Waar een Apple 15 Pro Max het veel beter gaat doen is de SoC. Die is op minder nm, en dus veel efficienter. Ook gebruikt iOS veel minder elektriciteit dan Android. Je krijgt daar wel minder vrijheid voor terug.
Hoe dan ook moeten ze m.i. de lezer zelf de weights in laten stellen. Bijvoorbeeld 5% selfies, 2% security, 0% duurzaamheid is niet hoe ik de weights zou zetten. Jij wel? Prima, jij jouw weights, ik de mijne. Een telefoon die zo lek is als een zeef heeft voor mij alleen verkoopwaarde (en die kan daardoor niet al te hoog zijn âŠ)
Ook moet je de prijs mee laten wegen. Vergelijk je de Fairphone 4 of 5 met een iPhone van soortgelijke prijsklasse, kom je al uit op een cijfer dat vergelijkbaar aan elkaar is.
Hoe dan ook kun je deze cijfers (ook met bovenstaande verbeteringen) niet zo serieus nemen. Mijn vrouw heeft een Google Pixel 6 Pro, prima smartphone die ze lang kan gebruiken (lang op een dag met zwaar gebruik, vele jaren ivm lange software support). Zij vindt fotografie belangrijk, ik niet. Zij heeft dus een redelijk vlotte smartphone met lange batterijduur. Cijfer: 7,4. De Google Pixel 7 en 8 varianten scoren lager maar daar ga je minder lange support op krijgen, ze zijn nog iets duurder (want nieuwer). Allen prima toestellen maar minder lange support. Moet je dan de 7 of 8 links laten liggen en voor een 6 variant gaan? Opzeker niet.

het grootste probleem met de testen van de Consumentenbond is het totaal gebrek aan transparantie: hoe komen ze aan hun cijfers???
Bij duurzaamheid is dat uitermate storend: waar halen ze beoordelingen vandaan? Van de websites van de fabrikanten? Dan heb je het probleem van green washing! De duurzaamheidsbeoordelingen van de iPhone zijn uiterst dubieus.

Het voorstel van Jeroen is precies wat we nodig hebben als kritische consument: zelf de wegingsfactoren in kunnen stellen op de website. Dan kun je duurzaamheid een percentage geven die je zelf kiest! Maar dan moet duurzaamheid wel aanwezig zijn! En die is nog steeds niet aanwezig als wegingsfactor! Let op: dit gaat grote gevolgen hebben voor de zgn. BESTE UIT DE TEST: als de consument zelf kan bepalen wat de wegingsfactoren zijn dan zal de iPhone opeens niet meer de BESTE VAN DE TEST zijn! Als je duurzaamheid 80% geeft zal de FAIRPHONE op eens de BESTE VAN DE TEST zijn. En de Consumentenbond verkoopt dat predikaat aan fabrikanten om reclame mee te maken voor hun producten⊠het is dus een inkomstenbron voor de Consumentenbond.
