Well, IMO it’s no “must have” but I find it quite nice to have the icon on the screen which just opens the forum and nothing more. Not an entire browser with all the tabs (as shortcut it often opened an additional one) the overhead, the headers, footers etc.
Well, just try it out for some time and see if you like it or not. I do.
