using lineage. dont know if that rom can or does update firmware/drivers for radio and co.
how would I do that without installing the official rom updates if lineage doesnt?

There are quite a few things you can flash to the phone, such as install files for various OSes as well as popular add-ons … and there are different ways to flash them.
What do you want to do?
ensure all parts I can update have the most recent “drivers”
If you flashed the latest modemfiles, the hardware drivers are as recent as they get.
