How many e-sims can you have in 1 Fairphone

I have currently a normal simcard (businessnumber) and an e-sim (private number) in my fairphone (4). Is it possible to ad an other e-sim (only data) or is there a limit of 1 e-sim per phone?

you can have multiple esims, but only 1 can be active at a time

Thanks for the aswer. I want to use the second e-sim only for data. The other for calls (the main e-sim).

Do I deactivate the one for using the other or will that be automaticaly done

You would have to manually switch between them and it can take like a minute to adjust.
Only newer phones like the Pixel 7 can use two eSIMs simultaneously.

I thought android 13 could handle 2 active eSIMs, as long as there is no physical one?

It’s not about soft- but hardware, please check:

@snowblind Android 13 added support for eSIM MEP (multiple enabled profiles), but the hardware still needs to support it.

eSIM isn’t purely software, it is often backed by an isolated virtual machine running the same SIM code or an onboard eUICC chip.

My understanding was that esim hardware was not necessarily a factor. At any rate I just tried it and it won’t work.
