Has anyone tried re-using / moving SD-card from FP3+ to FP6?

Hi there - just to see if anyone has tried doing this? My SD-card is shown as such when I connect the FP3 to my laptop (Windows 10), so don’t think it’s set up as internal storage which shows separately.

I’d be interested to know because the official webpage (https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/10489306843409-How-to-set-up-a-microSD-card#h_01HB8R05S2KMY2SE2NPGS915EK) mentions a different ‘speed class’ for the FP3 than the FP6. That may suggest the old SD-card may not work in the FP6?

Thanks in advance! (Asking as it will take some time for me to research and prepare everything before migrating across and esp. moving the SIM – so haven’t yet turned the new FP6 on…)

I think you don’t need to worry here. The FP6 can write and read faster on and from an SD card, but it does not require that the card is “fast enough”. If the card is slow, the FP6 will just write and read in the same (slow) speed. UHS-I is a capability, not a requirement.

By the way, I am using a 2TB UHS-I card in my Fairphone 3 (!) without any noticeable problems.

Thank you, Urs. That’s really helpful.

I’m finding the Fairphone webpages give factual technical information but don’t include much to explain what that actually means in practice. So really handy to have these forums and kind people to help out.

I moved my sd-card from 3 to 6, no problem.
