What about moving the “hardware diagnostics” code to an independant app (that would require root privileges) available in f-droid

It would allow to install it on a Fairphone running LineageOS for instance.
And I’m sure it could easily be made more generic, to be useful even with other phones, porting Fairphone philosophy to more users…
To answer to myself, in LineageOS for Fairphone, there is already a Calibration app, that is a Fairphone’ specific proximity sensor calibration app. So it looks like we’re already half the way toward my suggestion.
For LineageOS, there’s no complete solution yet as far as I remember, but at least a topic …

Is there any way to use the FairphoneCheckup App with LineageOS on a Fairphone 2?
I found the Checkup app to be easily installable via Google Play. But sadly I find no way to launch it.
On LineageOS settings don’t contain an entry “Maintenance” (also not after restarting after installation) and there’s also no entry in the app-drawer/startmenu.
