get_unlock_ability=0 just means you cannot unlock if something wrong, like the rollback protection.
So to clarify:
- if get_unlock_ability=1
- Locking with newer patch version = OK
- Locking with older patch version = not OK, but you can unlock

- if get_unlock_ability=0
- Locking with newer patch version = OK
- Locking with older patch version = brick

That’s why we (the forum users, not fairphone!) always advice to not lock if ability=0 ![]()
