🇬🇧 🇩🇪 Fairphone Updater doesn't work - Storage Upgrade - FP 1

Hello,

I have a FP 1 with the wellknown problem, that it told me my storage was full and I couldn’t install any new app or updates (v.1.8.7.).
Now I followed the instruction on:


to create a unified storage.

But it didn’t work… As the update was downloaded, nothing happend, the app “fairphone updater” was closed. So I restarted the phone. I wanted to check, if one large storage was created, but everything looks like before (“internal storage” and “phone storage”). Now I tried to open the app “Fairphone Updater” again to start the process from the beginning. But I can’t open “Fairphone Updater” anymore, it always pops up “Fairphone Updater wurde beendet” (German, sth like: Fairphone Updater was closed).

It sounds quite complicated to me as I am not a technical expert…

Is there any (simple) solution how my Fairphone Updater App could work again? (Restarting the phone etc. does not help). I had to delete half of my apps already because of the storage problem…

I would especially appreciate an answer in German, if possible. If not, I am anyways happy to find a solution!!

Wahrscheinlich ist dein (Interner) Speicher so voll, dass auch für das Storage Upgrade selbst (ist ja auch eine 200+ MB große Datei) nicht mehr genug Platz ist. Ich würde Dir empfehlen, dass Du zunächst einen Hard Reset machst, der sorgt dafür, dass wirklich der Speicher geräumt wird. Danach probiere es noch mal mit dem Storage Upgrade.

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass Du das Backup schon gemacht hast.

Wird das Update nicht in den Phone Storage geladen? (Nicht in den internen?)

Das Problem mit dem Updater lässt sich auf jeden Fall leicht beheben: Einstellungen > Apps > Alle Apps > (Fairphone) Updater und dann Daten löschen.

Schau mer mal. Ich wäre aber überrascht, wenn der Fairphone Updater die Installationsdateien in den Telefonspeicher lüde. Wenn ich mich recht entsinne, ist das nur der beim manuellen Update vorgesehene Ort. Aber vielleicht irre ich mich ja, würde die Sache ja erleichtern.

Der Fairphone Updater hat noch weiter rumgesponnen. Sogar nachdem ich die Daten gelöscht hatte, blinkte nach erneutem Neustart des FPs wieder die Fehlermeldung “Fairphone Updater wurde beendet” (ohne dass ich überhaupt versucht hatte, ihn zu öffnen).
Ich hab mich überwunden und dann doch das manuelle Update gemacht (mit viel trial & error…). Auf jeden Fall funktioniert jetzt alles wieder super, ich habe nun auch den großen Speicher und nicht mehr die Trennung in internen und Telefonspeicher.
