"Free" fairbuds are reducing electronic waste?

The FP5 comes with fairbuds for free (=included in the price).

I never had the need for such a thing, I will not wear them at home, nor in the car, nor out with friends. I understand some people will use them when they go jogging in the park or in the public transport, but it’s not my case.

So they are gonna sit in a drawer until i forget them and eventually go for recycling.

I’m trying to remove them from the cart, unsuccessfully. Fairphone, which does not send power cables to reduce e-waste, has decided that I MUST receive a useless thing.

I’d rather have a 149€ coupon to purchase accessories and spare parts of my choice…

I would address this via their online chat to support to see if there are options.

Hi, I have just proceeded to the checkout and after choosing to remove the fairbuds twice from my basket, they are indeed gone.

That was also the initial idea behind the campaign, quoting FP message from the instagram,

Until the 12th of January, get free Fairbuds with your new Fairphone 5 (if you need them, of course!)

Hmm. Might be incompatibility with my browser then.

They wrote the deadline on instagram but not on their website.
If it’s Xmas consumerism, I’ll wait till 13th to see what will be the new price without “free” fairbuds.

Hi, you can of course check with other browsers or wait, but there is no immediate link between the end of the promotion and change of the price
