There won’t be 23.3, but yes it’s safe to flash it as long as you don’t lock the bootloader.
Oh okay, just future 23.2 builds making incremental improvements until an eventual official build?
Awesome! I’ll reinstall 23.0 for now, thank you very much ![]()
It seems we’re getting near the goal ^^
The last build have some major bugs, in your place wait for the next release
Oh nice, this means i ordered my FP6 at a perfect timing XD
Still using a fp3 with LOS 22.2 <3
But yeah, if there are more beta testers wanted, i’m eager to test it ![]()
Thanks for working on this! Just installed on my new FP6! Install process was pretty straightforward, I used the guide from the old thread (might want to repost that in this thread btw). A few notes:
- The official Android USB drivers from Google do not seem to match the VID and PID that this device uses when in fastboot mode (18d1:d00d), so (as a Windows user) I had to fall back to downloading a random driver package from some sketchy driver site in order to get it to show up in Fastboot. Is there an official package that contains a working fastboot driver for this device? Might be worth linking from the thread.
- I also had the issue with gapps, and reflashing vbmeta as described above fixed it (though I had to use an older fastboot version, the latest was giving
Failed to find AVB_MAGIC at offset: 0). - I did have one instance where I booted into recovery and USB was totally nonfunctional – the phone didn’t enumerate at all over the USB bus. Rebooting fixed it, thankfully.
No issues with rooting via Magisk, I just flashed the APK through ADB Sideload, then opened the app and followed the instructions and everything worked. Installed latest Play Integrity Fork and Shamiko and then used the random magisk rename function, and now even the final boss of root-detecting apps, OneMedical, runs!
Anyway, thanks for your work on this, and excited to try it out more in the coming weeks!
So did you manage to make magisk working on fp6? What about OTA updates? FP6 has the A/B partitions?
It suprices me that so many people still “root” their phones. Why do you do that? What about security?
And why use a custom ROM if your just going to add back all the malware from Google? I’m genuinly curious.
@Hund This is off topic here so kindly stick to the topic to help @ArianK16a focus on the development of LOS.

Wow.. What a great way to run a forum. ![]()
What’s the best way to keep us updated about LineageOS for Fairphone 6?
It is a great way to run a forum: the simple rule is that topics are about mostly one thing and relevant conversations. You started a new topic entirely.
The best way to keep updated about LOS on the FP6 is to subscribe to this topic. You should click on the bell icon and set how often you want to be updated when there’s new posts.

Exactly. However. That’s not the case here.
Anyway. It’s okay. This is their forum, and they’re free to run it however they want to. If we don’t like it, we don’t have to be here. ![]()

There’s a bunch of talk about GApps, root and all kinds of things, surrounding a testing version of LineageOS for Fairphone 6. I want actual updates about the developer progress. I don’t want to read 999 irrelevant posts, between the relevant information.

I appreciate the help, but I’m well aware of the basics of this “modern” forum. ![]()

I have noticed the fullscreen video bug in image slideshows in the browser too. Further findings are the inability to hide the carrier name in the status bar under settings>display. The call volume and notification sound demo do not change on moving the slider, neither does the vibration intensity. @ArianK16a Hope I didn’t mention anything that has already been brought up.
If you actually care about the development progress you can observe the github repos: GitHub - ArianK16a/android_device_fairphone_FP6
But note that his has nothing to do with when i will release a new build, that happens randomly, sometimes right after a lot of changes, sometimes just in between. If you just care about the releases, they always get posted here first: Releases · arian-ota/ota · GitHub
Speaking of releases, I’ve just uploaded a new build which should fix most of the QPR2 related issues. Apart from that i spent a ton of time parsing qualcomms perf configs and migrate them to some format more useful for us on AOSP (without qualcomm code changes). This results in a higher smoothness now, finally making this phone somewhat fun to use :’) As usual, feedback regarding this is welcome, especially if you notice some specific workloads behaving weird now performance wise. Locking the bootloader is not supported anymore, to simplify flashing addons for everyone. If this is important to you, it is advised to build it yourself according to these instructions.
I have also updated the general build instructions for lineage-23.2!
While, of course, I would like to release hotfixes asap when some bugs slipped in, that’s just not always possible for me (and does not need any justification from my side!!) and I’d really like to not get a ton of personal messages on every kind of platform someone can find me, thanks!
Totally right indeed!
Definitely way snappier. Based on the first bit of running the new build the kernel changes paid out fully.
hello,
what a great build, thanks
A post was split to a new topic: Why people use GApps and root when using LOS
