FP6 Restart the phone to load the corresponding configuration - 15.148.0 - US/Canada

Hey everyone, offering another little update on my end. The update fixed this issue for me in Canada almost entirely a while back, but I’ve noticed some patterns

  1. On my commute there is about a 50/50 chance I see the “restart the phone to locate the corresponding configuration” prompt flash before a forced restart, at the exact same physical location (entering/exiting a specific tunnel on the train, in either direction). My commute involves a lot of tunnels, many block cell signal but only one tunnel has ever caused this. Happy to share with FP team the location.
  2. After several hours the Wi-Fi stops working until restart (can’t find any networks, data only). Sometimes I get all day, sometimes 3 hours. Unsure if related.

I’m grateful the update has meant I can basically use my phone like normal for the most part, but yeah…not fully fixed.

I was hoping the new update would address the reboot issue, but it did not. Disable Location Accuracy, and then try to install the update.

I’m from Germany and have this issue too.

You have this error message?

In other topics you said it mainly reboots while charging. Thats a differnet issue.

If you mean me: You’re right, my fault. I DON’T get this message before/during the phone restarts.

Sorry for the confusion.

Any foolproof way of fixing this? I am living in Sweden and have never experienced this before. Earlier this week, I went to visit the United States of America, and all was well until this morning when I got a nudge to install FP6.QREL.15.162.0 which I did. After that, I have had my phone restart a handful of times already.

What is the problem here? Being in US and A? Updating to 15.162.0? Will things be fine once I get back to Europe? Can I do anything to fix this?

Same here

Build # FP6.QREL.15.162.0

U.S. Standard Android, not e/OS

Carrier: Mint Mobile (T-Mobile)

I never experienced any of these issues, to my knowledge, until installing the 15.162.0 update. Now my phone restarts maybe a dozen times a day. I have now deleted the cashe for Google Play Services and disabled Location Accuracy, will see if this fixes it especially next time I use a navigation feature.

Yup that seemed to work as far as I’ve been able to notice anyway!

My phone (FP6 Android) rebooted eight times over the last two days while I was in Mexico. It happened again once I returned to the US and once more today.

This is a major issue. Is this going to happen until the North American FCC approval comes through? The latest firmware update notes didn’t mention this, and there hasn’t been much communication about a fix. I want to keep Location Accuracy turned on. I am going to wait for one more update. And if in the latest update, there is no solution, or mention on the reboot issue. I am ditching my FP6 for good. I don’t care about having a fast phone. All I need is a relaible phone, that I can know for sure, that the alarm will ring.

My theory, is that it is because of the lack of FCC certification, hence why they haven’t been able to fix it. The other theory is that it is something else, and it has been a few months and the team has yet to find a solution. I am sticking to the FCC theory until proven otherwise. The team has been completely silent on this issue. They didn’t even mentioned it on the last update.

The Fairphone 6 has had FCC approval since August. It’s device ID 2AUWUFP6.

Why are you still repeating unproven assumptions?

And reg fixes so support is your way to go when still experiencing

Dunno if this has any value, but I thought that I could share an update. My phone restarted one last time as I got back to the old world and was strolling around Kastrup. Since then, it has not misbehaved one single time for the two weeks since.

My continues to reboot even after the update. At first it would reboot like 60 times a day. Then by disabling Location Accuracy, it is down to 1 or 2 a day. Then after the update, it continues to reboot 1 or 2 a day but now I am able to turn on Location Accuracy.

It is pretty annoying. I do hope that the reboot issue is fix once and for all on the next update. If not, I will leave Fairphone for good.

I needed to reply to this – it’s quite out of date, so I hope people find it. My am now able to get 5G to work, and the reason it works now is deeply embarrassing: my plan with Koodo was not 5G enabled. So, umm… duh, but it works now.

Update from Feb 2026, my FP6 still reboots as I move around the city. It usually happens while I’m riding in a car or public transit. It tends to happen once or twice per travel. It’s definitely better than it used to be but it’s not fixed.

Anyone from FP have any idea if a permanent fix is being worked on by FP or T2 or Qualcomm?

Hi, I know you posted here already but in order to be super certain - do you have the message about loading the configuration showing up in all the occasions?
And have you submitted the ticket? I know getting proper support from Canada is a challenge but logs could be of use I guess.

The last several times it happened I wasn’t looking at the screen so I don’t know if the message showed up. That can only be caught if I look at the screen actively. Currently switched back to my Pixel until the next FP6 update is released when I can test again.

Never faced this issue until installing a travel eSIM for the US. Definitely seems to be a NA issue wrt SIMs

Hi all, I live in Canada and plan to upgrade from my FP4 to FP6 (need a spare part for my FP4, which I can’t find anywhere, and have been wanting to upgrade to OLED for a while). Are people in this thread still having significant issues with their FP6 constantly restarting? Thank you!
