Just wanted to give a heads up that the ram memory issue on iode 7.8 is resolved in 7.9. In 7.7 it had 12GB ram available but in 7.8 it would only have 8GB. Update from today resolved it.
As its my main phone I will not try lineage os or calyxos again that had the same issue when I tried. My guess is that art least lineage should have it resolved as well.
no, i unlocked the bootloader trough fastboot, installed and locked the bootloader. ulocked it again when trying lineage os(just to see if it had the same ram issue) and i tried calyx(same ram issue but bankapp issue for me as well) locked and relocked multiple times. always worked. installed fpos inbetween every time.
can that issue be caused by logging into google? i never even used fpos, kept it offline and just did the setup steps to get to the develloper options. no login, no accounts, no network might be worth a try to factory reset and try again
maybe i got lucky, dont know. i can still toggle it on and of in iode. i unboxed, booted to unlock and installed different os and played around a bit. calyx was not an option, ive had lineage with gapps for many years, wanted to try microg specific build, so iode.
Really dumb question but are you connected to the internet? I was going to immediately put iode on my FP6+ when I got it and skipped WiFi setup. I got the unlock failed thing, logged into my WiFi and it worked perfectly
I have a separate question though. Is there any way to not have the yellow <!> “you are booting a different OS” screen when I reboot the phone? Or am I just stuck with that
No, there isn’t.
I’m quite sure you’ll get used to it with time and won’t notice it anymore.
If you don’t want to wait on this screen press power (“ok”) twice.
There are two kind of this but the style is similar. Only the text differs. (they indicate either Unlocked Bootloader and different OS installed) but as @Volker said you can not get rid of it easily. (maybe there are hacky ways with root or or so but not worth to go that way just for this)

Even I did not confirm that myself in the linked thread, but sure I was and I still connected to the internet. Different WiFi networks, mobile data etc. … and there are more FP6+ users with the issue out there.
