Hi. My new FP5 wont connect to my iPhone running iOS 18.4.1 during the set-up process. I get the error ‘cant connect to other device’. I need this to work in order to transfer my Whatsapp data to my new phone! Any help? I never had this issue with Pixels in the past. The FP5 is running the latest software available.

I could imagine that you didn’t keep your iPhone unlocked or didn’t accept the “Trust” warning when connecting the iPhone. Just a guess though.
Yes, my iPhone is unlocked. However, the trust device notification does not appear…
I think the Trust notification might only appear on the first attempt the connect the devices.
What troubleshooting steps did you already perform?
- Rebooted both devices and tried again
- Updated Whatsapp to the latest version on both devices
- Checked if the lightning cable works without issue when transferring data to/from a computer
Yes I’ve tried all that. I’ve also tried resetting the trust settings on my iPhone, restarting both devices, resetting the FP back to factory, multiple different cables and charging both up to 100% so they don’t charge each other… never had this issue with Pixels in the past, so I think I have bad luck…
Sounds like you did everything I could think of (and even more ).
I’m out of ideas - maybe someone else has a good suggestion?
