FP5 - Battery Life

One last comment on the FP4 here, else @all please use the FP4 topic to discuss further: I cant see that you reported it in the beta group, if thats really the case I would start there.

Nice meme. PS. I love to type with a keyboard. Another term is snail mail. But still has the same meaning.

Maybe try the enter key once in a while :smirk:

True, Sometimes depends on the program in question. If you are using messages. Hitting enter would actually send the message before you’d finish it. If its in like a word program. It functions normally. Sometimes it’s just easier to do it in word processer before copy and pasting it to the intended application. Its just an extra step. I’m not sure if pressing enter here would send the reply. In short im actually talking about a physical keyboard and not the phones screen keyboard itself. PS I’m aware this is a thread about the battery. I was just replying to a comment.

This is off topic please stop this discussion here

First I was replying to a meme. I’m sorry if it got out of hand. I do apologize in advance.

Since the FP5 is a modular phone with a removable battery, I would like to see Fairphone offer a higher capacity battery that uses a new battery technology:

I have been wondering; does anyone know if this is actually possible without changing something on the phone side? Because I could imagine there are tweaks needed on the “accepting side” of the power.

(I didn’t watch the video )

Because I agree, this sounds like a small revolution and would be the perfect case for a FP4/5/6+ battery module.

I am asking to post the battery drain rate while active. I am attempting to see if my own battery drain rate is normal, or if it is an outlier.

I also am trying to compare it to alternatives such as the s26, which have a 0.6-0.9w power rate

My own discharge rate is 2.5-3.5 watts after disabling wifi+Bluetooth scanning

Before it was 3.5-4.2 watts

A good program to check it would be accubattery

How old is your battery?
When did you calibrate your battery?

Calibrate 1 week ago, and it is 1 year old.

If possible, I would like to know what the expected discharge rate of the fp5 is when in use

moved your post to this older discussion, maybe there are a few hints above or people will chime in to share recent stats of their devices

will gladly share my stats if you point me how to generate them

Install accubattery (but they do sell your data)

or a foss alternative such as this.

You shouldn’t need to give it any permissions.

Then go to discharge and see the wattage is shows.

Hi, I should have been more specific.
I have been using AccuBattery for a while but I am still not sure which info you are referring to.

Just battery current, and the highest/lowest values you see in 5-10 seconds

hello
i still feel a bit in the dark, I recorded the screen for like 60 seconds, and the lowest I got was 0,9 W, is this helpful?

I cannot upload a video here so I uploaded it to the cloud.

Oh, we’re starting up a battery health discussion? My fp5 is due for a new battery. I was planning on asking around how other’s are holding up.
