Just a side observation that might nevertheless be relevant in this context. I am currently spoiled with the luxury of having both an FP3 with the bumper as well as an FP3+ with the new green Protective Case here at home (until they need to travel back to Jollemanhof 
). Here’s a shot that seems to confirm my eyes’ impression that the hole in the green case appears to be a bit larger (rounder) than the one in the bumper (left):
