Avez-vous des modules avec le bouton volume et allumage ? Le bouton on/off ne répond plus et est complÚtement désolidarisé du cadre. (Fairphone 3+)

I wanted to ask for a bottom module too, because my FP3 has started to charge only sometimes and “ignoring” most of the chargers. Now I see that James and Jan are in the same situation I am. Could it be possible that the problem comes from any more general issue as changes in software? I would be prefer to be as sure as I can about this before I ask you for the module. Thanks a lot in advance for the answer and for your great job in the community.

Hi Imanol,

Usually the problem with charging is either dust or damage on the USB port. Or the problem could also come from your cable or charger.

I’ve never heard of a software issue limiting the charging.

So if you want, you can check with another cable and charger and clean your module of the dust (with a needle for example), maybe even if you can with some isopropyl alcohol in spray or on the tip of a cotton stick.

If this isn’t enough, then I have some bottom modules left
 Be aware that their number is decreasing quickly!

Hi Antoine,

I sadly got caught completely by surprise by Fairphone silently dropping support for my Fairphone 3 after just six years.

Like the other users, I regularly had issues with my bottom modules too and already had to replace them several times, so this seems like a structural design flaw (also clearly apparent from the scarcity of bottom modules compared to other spare parts in this forum). I better don’t ask what Fairphone did to the ones that were not sold by 2 August


Anyhow, I really badly need a new one at this point and were wondering if you’d still have one available that you could send to either the UK or Germany by any chance?

For the rest of users, if someone is in my same situation (FP3 giving strange answers to cables or chargers): try to charge it while being switched off - I’ve just discovered that mine is charging while switched off, but not when it’s on, no matter the charger.
