FP3 GPS not working after big fall

Hi all
I am posting this so that it could be easier to find for those in need, since I could not find the info i needed myself

it was also posted here as a reply:

My phone recently fell quite 4 floors. I have ordered and replaced the broken parts (screen and back cover) and reconnected all the modules.
However, I discovered my GPS was not working. Checked with the *#* #66#*#* test, with the GPS test app and nothing was working. @Antoine suggested dismounting and re-mounting the entire phone to ensure alignment. I have proceeded three times with no success.

I then just removed the screws and started mounting them using the star tightening method, which ensures alignment and everything was working fine again (see image below)

Just in case this is useful to someone else as well. The screw order does matter (especially if your FP has had a tough life  )

Hi,
very insightful remark!
so, are you talking screwing the screen, with the 13 screws right?
Stupid question, but aren’t the screws not in circle? that could be important, because it’s not as easy to identify each one.
It’s another to say, like, how can that be applied to a fairphone 3, for instance, with the order of screws on an actual photo of the modules.

Also : if some screws are missing, does that mean that the 11-12-13 can be forgone?

Yes I am talking about the 13 screen connecting screen module with rear module…
Regarding your question: It is actually enough to do it with the 4 corner Screws. That will take care of the alignment. Remember that you must screw them all half way in, and only after that, you can keep tightening them following the order of the the star tightening.

Interesting. I nearly always follow that sort of tightening pattern with electronic items but even outside of that it is good practice not to tighten one screw all the way up till all the others are half way.
