FP2 won't wake up sometimes

I’m having an intermittent but recurring problem. Sometimes my screen stays black no matter how many times I press the power button, and I have to hold it down and restart the phone.

This usually happens when I haven’t been using the phone for a while, but it’s also blacked out and refused to wake up while I’ve been using it and while the alarm has been going off.

My girlfriend also has a FP2, and isn’t experiencing anything like this. Does this sound like a software/hardware thing?

Are you having the latest OS 1.8.1 update?

Just to have a try as it is display related:

Clean the screen properly first, then use the recalibration tool in
settings->maintenance->proximity sensor and reboot once.
