As the bottom modules for the FP2 are in demand have you thought about a repair, either by a shop or yourself.
The usual issues are failing to charge and the microphone not working.
You can see efforts to do self repairs, which a shop can reference via
@JohnHughes (thanks again) send me two broken bottom Modules some days ago. This one has a defekt µUSB port.
After disassembling I took a picture with a microscope camera and found some solder cracks. Barely to see without magnification. Two cracks at the shield contacts that I am not too worry about, but also one at contact 5. I am sure that was a slack joint. Some serious force must be acted to the Port.
I will try to resolder the joints and hope the bottom module will be able to do its work…
As fairphone angel (in Berlin) I have a lot of support cases with nonfunctional microphones in the bottom modul. A lot of users have minimum the 2nd, often the 3rd bottom module. Mostly easily changed by Fairphone support in warranty.
But there is a lot of waste (I collect old faulty modules and send them back for recycling).
So my questions:
