FP1: Help with creating/editing a 3D case?

My wife is using a Fairphone (1st series), and she has the default case. Unfortunately: the case has an issue: the hole for the charger is to small for our charger cables. So she has to get it out of the case all the time to charge.

But with the upcoming presents-exchanging thing (some call it Christmas), I was thinking to get her a 3D case…

The big issue here: I don’t know anything about editing 3D models.

So my question is: who can and is willing to help me? I like to use one of the existing designs with the Fairphone logo at the bottom (the Manifesto one probably), erase the text (sorry :-)) and add the logo of the ecology NGO where she is the chairwoman. I have their logo in hi-res, and a 3D printing company here in town. All I would need is someone who can do the actual 3D editing…

Who can help me?

Thanks in advance!

@Ardjan you can download the basic file from the Fairphone website here: https://fairphone.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201194477

When you make the logo into a PNG file (for example with illustrator of photoshop) you can use this in Blender 3D on the FairponeCommunity.blend file.
What you need to do is add a texture to the design. When this is done you can make it into an STL file which you need to print.

Only thing is, is that you can’t use any of the original Fairphone designs. These are not available for download in such a way that you can edit them yourself.

good luck

Ardjan,

Be my guest. Just send me a Private Message I will see what I can do for you!

Here’s an example I just created this afternoon for a friend:
