Flashed my FP5 with FP5-UT20 (android 14) - netflix fails

I flashed my FP5 with FP5-UT20 image (android 14)… and netflix won’t work (15001) - which means safetynet fails I guess… I am guessing its because the device is “OEM unlocked” now?

How do I fix this? do I really NEED to lock my bootloader for netflix to work?

why did you flash it? and yes it might be due to the unlocked bootloader, for me Netflix works

I wanted to try LineageOS - which I’ve been running for many years previously on older android phones…

so LOS was installed? With which security patch level date, this would be important in case the bootloader needs to be locked. It must not been higher than FPOS one which is 5th Jul

it was release from 13. august 2024. (lineage-21.0-20240813-nightly-FP5-signed.zip)
I found Is it safe to lock bootloader? - #25 by yvmuell - but that wasn’t very clear… :frowning:

dont know the security patch level of this version you would have to check. There is a chance it was already on SPL 5th Aug and if so you cant lock the bootloader at the moment you would have to wait for the next OTA.
However maybe there are options to keep it unkocked and use Netflix I dont know.

I’d be fine locking it - I just need a working phone now… will buy an extra if I want to play around more

Before I went here I ran: fastboot flashing lock_critical - which rebooted and I then choose to lock bootloader… and it ran the FP5 install again… and thats now setup… but settings (when I enable developer) - says the bootloader is still unlocked… Sounds a lot like above thread…
So will next FP5 OS update - once installed - solve this - and “notice the bootloader is actually locked and update OS status” or ?

you mean in the developer settings “OEM unlocking”? This is normally not showing the bootloader status, this only shows if its possible to unlock it. To check the bootloader status you have to boot into fastboot.

in Android 14 it says: “OEM unlocking” - and then below it “Bootloader is already unlocked”.

Please check the lock status in fastboot directly.

To lock the bootloader you need to execute fastboot flashing lock

However I advise against as long as you dont know the SPL of the LOS version that was installed.
