Hi everyone, I’m French, so I translated this message myself.
I’m honestly shocked and frustrated by Fairphone’s complete lack of customer support. There’s no phone number, no replies to emails, the live chat is available only 6 hours a week split over 2 days, and when those days finally come… the chat is mysteriously closed. Frankly, I’m posting my questions here because I don’t know where else to go, and I’m starting to wonder if I should just switch to another brand.
Here are my questions:
1. About the charger
Is the charger included with the phone?
If not, what charger model and wattage do you recommend specifically for this model?
2. About charging & the so-called “ultra-quick replacement”
On the product page it says:
“All-day battery (4,200 mAh) and fast charging. And you can easily replace it if needed. 50% charge in 20 minutes.”
“Or go from 0 to 100% in seconds with ultra-quick replacement.”
What exactly does “ultra-quick replacement” mean?
Is this a feature integrated into the phone?
Or does it require specific accessories (charger, cable, spare battery, etc.)?
If so, which exact accessories are required?
3. About the e/OS (Murena) version
I found very little reliable information about the Fairphone 5 running e/OS.
Is this OS fully compatible with all apps from the Google Play Store or other app stores?
Are there any known incompatibilities?
And if I’m not happy with e/OS, is it possible to easily switch back to Android?
4. About storage & color options
I noticed that the 8 GB RAM – 256 GB storage version is not available in green.
Is this due to a temporary out-of-stock issue?
Or is this version simply not manufactured in that color?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide reliable answers.
Fairphone, if you read this: please reconsider how you treat your customers.
About question 3.
From the Murena website
" Murena smartphones have been designed to offer a different approach to users who care about privacy and data-hungry handsets.
Our smartphones are running the open-source “/e/OS” operating system, which is fully “deGoogled”: by default it doesn’t send any data to Google and it’s been designed to offer a great and natural user experience."

" All Google apps are removed and replaced by equivalent Open Source applications. The one exception is the Maps Application"
Okay, but how compatible is it really?
Will I have access to all apps from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store?
For example, games, social media, various utilities, etc.?
How it will be possible to have apps from Apple’s App Store ?
For /e/OS go on their forum to have all the informations.
Before wrote Fairphone support is a joke, try to make your own search or just ask on this forum. But maybe now people prefer barking to fishing for information.
Maybe customer support is unable to deal with warranty support requests, because people are bogging them down with pre-purchase questions instead of using the public forum, reddit or reading/watching product reviews…
