Fairphone on Dutch radio

Bibi Bleekemolen from the Fairphone team was interviewed on Dutch radio. It’s in Dutch so unfortunately that means non-Dutch speaking people probably won’t understand what’s being said. You can listen to it here:

Skip ahead to around 14:30 to get to the section about Fairphone.
Be warned, the interviewer is incredibly annoying and his know-it-all sidekick needs a swift kick in the butt, but hey, it’s something.

Basically what Bibi tells is that with the new Fairphone they’re designing it from the ground up, starting with a chipset (no mention of which chipset) so they can have more control over the design, materials used and production process. She said the new Fairphone will have much better specs than the current Fairphone and will look great
They’re aiming to sell 200,000 units over a period of 12 to 18 months but are careful not to overstretch themselves because they wouldn’t be able to keep up with all the work surrounding it, like logistics and things like helpdesk support.
