Fairphone delivered with a defect, unable to get support

Hello,

My device was delivered with a battery issue. I contacted support, and they asked me to return the device to Cordon Electronics and that I will be shipped a brand new fairphone instead. Unfortunately, the tracking number provided by Cordon is invalid. I tried contacting both Fairphone and Cordon but I’m unable to get a response from either.

I’m really stuck on what to do. I don’t know how to request a refund either because I’m just not able to get in contact with anyone.

Did anyone have a similar situation? Any help would be appreciated.

You’re not the only one with this battery issue.

Some information is missing in your topic though, the time between events. Sometimes tracking numbers take a day to register at the postal service for example. But without knowing a ballpark timeline it’s hard to estimate how critical this is. I had no issues with my tracking code.

I didn’t want to flood the post with timeline details. The device has been delivered to Cordon Electronics at November 4. The tracking code I mentioned as not-working was the internal tracking code Cordon Electronics emailed to me.

Do you have a service number? Or do you know any of the other details mentioned here?

Cordon emailed me an “RMA” at October 29 (they sent it when my case was opened, then I shipped the phone to them and it got delivered November 4).

I tried to query it on that portal but it doesn’t find anything. I don’t have a tracking number or a case number. Just in case, I tried entering the RMA on other fields and also tried searching with the phone’s IMEI as well, none of them returned a result.

When the case is opened you must have a case number, right? Maybe you missed an email or a part of their emails? Maybe try a general search in your inbox for Cordon (cordongroup.com) or Fairphone? The IMEI should work as well. Hmmm, strange.

The fast-ish way to contact support is via the online chat, unfortunately you would now need till Monday.

I also have my fp6 at Cordon Electronics France for repair. I can follow the repair both on Cordon site

also at Fairphone site

with my IMEI. :grinning_face:
