Fairphone appoints Reinier Hendriks as new CEO

We are happy to share the news that Fairphone has appointed Reinier Hendriks as our new CEO. Reinier has a distinguished career spanning more than two decades across telecommunications, technology, and financial services. He brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to fairness and sustainability, ideal to lead Fairphone into our next growth phase. Reinier has held leadership roles at industry giants such as Vodafone and KPN, showcasing his ability to navigate and thrive in competitive international markets.

Before starting at Fairphone, Reinier was the Group Managing Director of LeasePlan Corporation. He led the rapid expansion of the organization over the last few years with a focus on transitioning to electric vehicles.

After an extensive search facilitated by Russell Reynolds Associates, and with more than 100 candidates, the Supervisory Board unanimously chose Reinier as the preferred candidate.

Fairphone’s CFO and Interim CEO, Noud Tillemans, has decided to leave Fairphone to explore new challenges and opportunities. Noud was an immensely valued leader who helped push Fairphone to new heights during his tenure. His departure leaves behind a legacy of passion, commitment, and a highly talented team. Noud’s influence on the company and culture has been profoundly positive and will be greatly missed. Fairphone wishes him the best in the next phase of his career.
