🇩🇪 🇬🇧 Fairphone 6 Alternative Cases / Screen Protectors

I have a clear TPU one that looks like the one funkylsk posted. I have had it for about a week and a half now.

Firstly, the TPU was very slippery, washing it with dishwasher soap removed whatever residue was on it, and now it’s relatively grippy.

It fits well, with a slight buldge between the fingerprint button and the slider. All buttons are easy to reach and the volume buttons have just the right amount of pre-tensioning to feel just like a normal button.

The only complaint I have is that they did a raised triangle around the cameras so the phone still wobbles when on a desk, it does wobble less than without, so that’s a bonus.

It’s not a perfect case as the surface is very smooth, but has little grippy areas at the lower-half of the sides, so I have not yet dropped it. It has a nice sturdy lip around the front of the display and only covers the plastic bit, so shouldn’t interfere with a screen protector.

Generally I’m happy with it.

Hello,
I have also ordered this kind of clear case (link).
If it may help someone to make an idea, I pasted below some pictures of it fitted on FP6.
The main visible defect is a slight misalignment between the lenses and holes, on backside. But, without any induced constraint in the case or on the lenses, as far as I can see.

The case I have is identical. Yes the camera holed are not centered. But I’m happy enough with it.

Habe die auch. Ist eine Kunstoffhülle und erfüllt ihren Zweck.

Thank you for the feedback and recommendation.

Ok Guys,

This video blowed my mind.

It was shared on Reddit Fairphone Sub and I realise it is a bit of marketing of PCBWAY (who I know nothing about), but I do love legos!

Fidgeting with a phone like that looks like a dream child-play and I couldn’t resist sharing it. Please forgive spamming

btw it looks pretty easy to print (?) back covers for FP6 of your choice, following some of the experience already shared in this topic

The FP6 just got way more interesting .

Hello everyone! I am looking for the most anti-reflection screen protector available for my Fairphone 6. To make an example, let’s say that the closest my screen would look to an e-reader screen, the better. Any advice? How much anti-reflection is the official one from Fairphone?

And what about blue light protection? I read that there was an official one for Fairphone 5 but not (yet?) for Gen. 6.

Thanks a lot!

In a previous post @okright linked this display protector, which seems to do what I need: Fairphone 6 Hydrogel Screen Protector Matte/Frosted
however shipment from the UK is 12 EUR, which is more than the protector itself (10 EUR). Can someone recommend a similar thing, that is a screen protector that will significantly reduce reflections and that fits the FP6, that I can order to Germany for less than 22 EUR?

The display is way too reflective for me; some QR code readers (okay, the ones REWE uses for payment at least  ) can’t read the code that is displayed, which is highly annoying. Granted, I can’t prove that it’s due to the reflectiveness but I strongly suspect so.

Thanks!

Andreas

I got the same and recommend it.

Tudia has prepared the case for Fairphone 6

It looks good. I am not sure whether it is yet available.

Tudia Case for FP5 is one of the forum favourites though not mine as I find it too bulky and heavy.

I recently purchased a white case for the Fairphone 6. While the device seems to maintain its original color, the case is yellowing quickly, looks dirty, and cleaning with soap and water doesn’t solve the problem. Has anyone found a solution to this problem, which I don’t think is unique to me? Is it possible to find more aesthetically stable protection from third-party vendors?
Thanks.

Hello @mdelladio I moved your query here as this topic is mainly devoted to discussing alternative cases for FP6.

It is a bilingual topic - you may post both in English or German.

Probably too much sunlight. I’m not saying that’s an excuse, just the probable cause. Unsurprising seeing the weather we’ve had this summer.

I don’t actually think the problem is due to sun exposure. I bought the case about forty days ago, and the smartphone, which hasn’t been used as a navigation device, has always been in my pocket or backpack. This is actually a common problem with some silicone cases, and I don’t think the black or green versions have the same problem. The smartphone hasn’t undergone any changes.

Perhaps you could file a complaint and get it reimbursed or swapped for a different colour one?

The mix of green and white looks good to me

I would find your proposal logical, even for a simple replacement, but, as is well known, customer service response times are rather Kafkaesque. I contacted support for an annoying problem with my new Fairphone 6, which I’ll have to resolve by sending the device in for repair. I received a courteous and helpful response after two months. Therefore, I don’t think it’s worth repeating the request for a case… I’ll try using a commercial case, hoping a solution emerges in the future, or a different material is used, or perhaps a transparent case is offered. Thanks.

Hi

I think we all hope for some kind of CS breakthrough. So how about filing the complaint now and seeing how it develops?

With the repair portal some issues got sorted, for example your previous repair would presumably have taken less time, so…you know one can hope

I love the Kafkaesque analogy btw

The original Fairphone 6 case protects the camera and display very well. Unfortunately, fine particles get between the case and the smartphone through the large hole on the back. This causes scratches on the plastic in several places. The case leaves marks on the edges of the FP6. Has anyone else had this problem with the case?

I have the white version and dont see any scratches caused by the case
