Fairphone 5 turns off randomly and won't turn back on

Hi,

I really hope there is a solution for this. Since a few days ago, my Fairphone 5 started to randomly go into sleep mode and would have some trouble turning back on. It was really random and short, so I just treated it as an inconvenience and didn’t look more into it.

It’s gotten worse to the point where I conldn’t even use it. Now it doesn’t shut off on its own anymore (maybe because I put the automatic sleep mode feature to after 30 minutes of inactivity compared to after one minute before) but when I manually put it to sleep mode, it completely shuts off and I have to restart it. Sometimes it doesn’t work and I have to manually reboot it. When it is in this pseudo-sleep mode it vibrates when I receive a call but the screen does not turn on and I cannot answer.

I looked into the forum and saw some people that seemed to have a similar problem, and it seemed related to 5G but I do not use 5G.

that will be very annoying.

sounds like the screen is not giving licht after waking up, but the phone is still on?

i think its better to contact your seller, tis will probably be something under warranty.

only solution i can think of you can try yourself is doing a factory reset.

if you can. a troubleshooting step is hold the power button till it shuts down. this can be 5 seconds of holding the power button. PS. I have mine set to 30min. of inactivity. sometimes even plugging in the charger can cause the screen to wake.
