Fairphone 5 bricked while attempting to install Ubuntu Touch

Whyever you repeatedly throw the word legal in. To flamebait?

It’s already controversial as it is, so I don’t really need to do much more.

Do you know the contracts with cordon? How should that work?

I don’t know anything other than what Fairphone explains about its partnership, but I’d like to if that’s what you want to know. I can’t help it if it bothers you.

We have already seen whats happening when they decide: they dont flash anew they exchange the motherboard for hundrets of euros.

I appreciate this point and I’m not surprised, but I’m not saying they have to decide, I’m just increasingly agreeing with what I’ve read elsewhere. Whether or not the claims are covered by the warranty is irrelevant.

The monopoly granted to Cordon by Fairphone must end.

Keep us posted if you have any news @iz_zi :slightly_smiling_face:

Updates on the current situation.

It has been 15 days since reaching out directly to Fairphone support, and still have not had any correspondence other than the first auto response message.

Still no word directly from the Cordon Group.

SBE LTD has responded back in a very timely manner, no more than 3 days at the longest.

The final word from SBE LTD seems to be “We have been advise that we currently do not directly support this manufacturer in the UK repair centre.”

In a follow up email they did say they have “forwarded your email to the manufacturer”.

Still hoping that this situation will be resolved sooner than later.
