Hi,
All of a sudden my usb-c to audio connector stopped working on my Fairphone 4. It has a DAC chip and worked pretty well for 2,5 years. I’ve tried everything I could find on this forum, from enabling and disabling USB setttings in the developer mode to ordering and installing a new USB-C port, without succes. I also tried different connectors and earphones. I hope someone can help, I really want to continue using my wired earphones…
Thnx!
Maybe your phone is trying to tell you it’s time to go half-wireless? BAA 100 | Buxton . I really love this one…
But really, one thing you could try is connecting the conversion to a PC. If it appears as an additional sound output, it could still work. If it doesn’t, it’s dead. And I wouldn’t be surprised as it is probably quite stressed if you carry it in a pocket or backpack… It’s like the 3,5 mm jack, it never survives too long.
Thnx, the connector is working when I connect it with my PC. Tested several connectors, they all do work on my pc but not on my Fairphone.
It seems that you already did the basic troubleshooting steps I would think of first: You connected the usb-c connector to your PC and that worked as far as I understood.
The next logical step would be to check out the USB-C port of your phone. If you replaced it, this should not be the issue, either.
Some ideas about that:
- Does charging still work as expected?
- Is it possible that you make a mistake when installing the new USB-C port? Maybe there is a connection issue on the “internal” side of the port?
- Do you have any other USB-C equipment you could connect to the phone as a test? Ideally another audio adapter, but it is unlikely that you have another one around. Else there are USB Docks, Network adapters, USB-C to HDMI dongles, etc.
…An USB-C cable connected to a PC to test data transfer capability.
Yes I have 3 connectors - they all work on other devices but not on my Fairphone. All of a sudden (I think after a software update) all 3 of them didn’t work anymore on my phone.
Data transfer is also not working, it is not only audio. But it works on other devices, so it seems a Fairphone problem
