Fairphone 4 stuck in fastboot mode after /e/OS install – not detected by Minimal ADB

Hello dear community,
I installed /e/OS on my Fairphone 4 using the Easy Installer. Everything went fine, including the USB driver update.

But after the final reboot, the phone showed a brief security warning, then went straight into fastboot mode — and now it stays stuck there on every boot.

The real problem:

  • It’s not detected by platform tools or Minimal ADB. I cannot do anything on the phone.
  • fastboot devices returns nothing

It looks like the phone is soft-bricked or something similare. Anyone seen this before? What should I do now? Appreciate any help.

Thank you very much for your support.

Beside trying different cable, USB Ports another PC I guess the only other option is to contact support, because when you can only boot into bootloader (no recvory, no System) and you cant reach it with fastboot commands, only FP can help you to get it send in to their repair center.

Thank you for your answer. Yes after some research, the only way looks like to try to use the EDL mode to flash directly the system from the cheep with a “Qualcomm Flash Tool”. I checked, it looks like pretty advanced and not very certains. I will send it back to the repair center.

Sad that the e/os installation did not worked :frowning: But I do not think I will try to install it again.

You could not do it on your own on the FP4

Yes, it sounds a bit like Trapped in fastboot mode with locked bootloader and corrupted custom ROM - #296 by hirnsushi but even if that had happened, the device should still be reachable via Fastboot mode. So to be really sure, did you

?

And you might try to get in contact with a fairphoneangel , just that someone else also tries again (sometimes oneself overlooks something…).
