Hello,
a few weeks ago my provider changed from 4G to 5G. My Fairphone didn’t work at all afterwads, so I got a new SIM card. I have changed the settings and after a while internet worked. Anything more or less fine, but I can’t call anymore. Fun fact: Facebook call is working.
Manuell selection of the net didn’t work.
I have added Wifi-Calling - no help.
Changed the setting to 4G/LTE - didn’t work.
Switched off VoLTE after advice - no Chance at all.
When I call I see “outgoing call”, do not hear anything that sounds like a dial-in, after a while there is a message “Mobile network is not available”, though the network is shown with a good signal and 5G in the display.
I have tested the SIM card with another phone - all fine. So it must be a problem with my Fairphone 4.
Android 13 Version is installed.
Any idea, what I can do?
Can you receive calls? Did you test another providers SIM card since the issue exist.
And one general comment: a SIM can be faulty even if working in another phone (however for a new card chances might be low that this is the cause)
Can you change to 2G only and see what happens?
I can’t receive calls.
I have to test another provider, didn’t do yet.
You was faster while I was updating my previous post, just to make you aware
Strange, 2 G is working, but only when Wifi is on…
Had to update. It’s only working with Wifi.
Wifi and WifiCalling on or also with Wifi Calling off?
Only working when on WiFi and WiFi calling are on.
sim.de uses the 1&1 Network?
So actually calls are going through Wifi Calling or does this also work when outside of the Wifi Range, so on but not connected?
No WiFi no call. Have just tested another Sim card (Vodafone) and this works. So I guess the problem is 1&1…

Hi,
my provider ist also sim.de.
I have been switched to 5G four weeks ago, and after that I had to make all the APN settings manually according to the sim.de Manual. After that, a reboot and activating VoLTE the FP4 worked flawlessly.
