Im going to buy a Fairphone 4, but as Im PWM-sensitive, I need to know how the screen utilizes PWM-dimming. I saw a test (notebookcheck) that stated there is no PWM, and other (newer) tests from a user that found 2.5khz PWM under 60% brightness which would be ok for me. (The official FAQ also confirms PWM, but without more details.)
But now I’m not sure if there are different display panel charges, so I wanted to ask if someone has done a PWM test on their phone or has deeper information about charges.
While I cannot provide any help with the PWM question, I just wanted to use the timely opportunity to strongly recommend to make sure what you buy is not a business phone still locked to a business’s or organization’s IT admin. This is especially relevant if you ever want to install a custom ROM (alternative operating system) on the device.
