Hi! Does anybody know if the FP3 is working with a Verizon or AT&T SIM card in the USA?
I will be in the USA for some months and I need a good smartphone contract.
Thanks!
You might want to have a look here or even ask your question there:
Hi there!
I have been using my Fairphone 3 in the DC area and around Maryland since March 2020. I have TMobile and I get excellent service as well as 4G. The phone has been performing great, and I am really glad to have one. There are some slight quirks I have noticed:
The phone gets very warm when being used for long periods of time (even inside a room with AC)
Sometimes Google Photos lags or the camera wont save the pictures that were just captured
The battery gets very warm (40 C) while b…

Maybe some useful info and contacts here. You may have to steer clear of Verizon.
Good afternoon, and thank you for looking at my question!
I am very interested in getting the Fairphone 3 and want to make sure I am able to do so currently. While I’m in the USA I have connections where getting it to me from Europe won’t be an issue.
What could be an issue is that I use Verizon for my provider. I don’t like them ethically, but it’s a family plan that saves my relatives money by bundling it together. Regardless, I would like to know what I can expect for performance on that ne…

Thanks a lot for this information
I think this recent post is relevant for FP3 users on AT&T:
What are folks doing about AT&T’s planned shutdown of their 3G network in February '22 in the USA? They’ve told me that my FP3 will no longer work on their network (a guy in the store said they’re actually shutting down some 4G capability?), so they sent me a replacement phone and sent a message this week that they’ll be deactivating my current phone (my FP3) next week. Until now, I’ve had no trouble on AT&T. I’m trying T-Mobile, voice and text work fine but I can’t get data to turn on. Anyone h…
A user was told by AT&T that they will shut down the 3G network that the FP2/3 rely on, as either phone doesn’t support AT&T 4G.
For now I would advise to use T-Mobile - although with the FP4 the situation might improve. I am however not aware of anyone who has taken the FP4 to the USA yet.

Thanks a lot for your answer, even it is not what I wished to hear. Isn’t the fp3 working with 4G? I usually have a 4G sign on my screen when I am of wlan (?). Or does this mean something different? Thanks!
Yes, FP3 provides 4G. However it may not be compatible with all 4G carriers and in all areas.
Check the FP3 specifications (see under Network) and compare them with those of the network operator(s).
