Question for my daughter who is currently in Peru. She inserted a SIM card from Peru in her Fairphone 3 ( in addition to the existing german SIM card). Since that action, the Fairphone crashes all the time (switches off every 5’ minutes without any reason).
Who can help? Is the second SIM card the problem?
(Oh oh. Possible SIM card trouble. Strange things can be happening with SIM cards.)
Welcome to the community forum.
From your description it would seem the SIM card is indeed the problem.
Unless the problem isn’t gone when the SIM card gets removed again. Did she try?
First try should be to simply reseat the SIM card.
If this doesn’t help, switching the SIM cards in the slots might help. Put the Peruvian one into the slot where the German one was and vice versa.
Any luck so far?
If not, is leaving out the German SIM card an option?
Thanks a lot for the hints and tips! Yes, indeed the phone works fine again when removing the Peru Sim Card. Her friend also has a Peru Sim Card. Now, they swaped their Peru Sim cards and it’s working in both phones! It seems that only this specific Peru Sim Card had a problem with the FP3.
