I’m trying to add an eSim on my FP4, in addition to my physical sim card. I followed the instruction on the website and when I get to the click on the + icon, nothing happens. It acts like it is pushed, but nothing else pops up.
I tried removing my physical sim card and following the same procedure, but had the same problem.
All software is upto date.
I tried to use the live chat to ask the support people, but live chat is currently down.
Are you sure your provider’s eSIM push system is working?
I’ve been using an eSIM for 2 years, and installing was convoluted, but painless. I even added a second, physical SIM later on (phone consolidation…), and it all works just fine. Giving them different colors allows me to know/choose provider.
The eSIM being pushed by your provider, it seems something prevents your phone from properly receiving it. Could be the phone is confused by the fact it is already configured for another provider (mine was brand new and virgin)?
I would check with my eSIM provider’s support, Fairphone support can’t help you here.
You mean in the settings under netowork - SIM cards, so the very first step already fails?
If so I think thats indeed an FP issue, as the provider doesnt push anything at that stage, but after adding a SIM using a plus sign you would scan a QR code?
I talked to the provider. They took a whole bunch of information (IMEI and EID). They said the phone is compatible, then they tried to activate it from their end and said something should pop up but it didn’t.
It should make no difference however did you try to click in the O2 SIM in the screen above and from their the plus instead of trying it from the above screen?
A few months ago I used an Andoid debloat program to remove some stuff that you can’t otherwise remove. I thought I was careful and only removed a few things like Google TV and other annoying stuff.
Having just remembered I backed up and factory reset my phone.
I got the eSim installed along side my physical sim. Now just to get my phone back to the way it was .
Maybe my wording was a bit misleading: i meant to click on SIMs (instead the plus) from there you should be able as well to add a SIM or is this maybe missing for you?
