I have experienced problems with both audio and audio recordings. Some other users seem to have experienced similar ones, according to certain forum entries.
HI! I have the same problem with the sound. I have even had 2 units, both with the same issue. Plus, the second phone had some problems starting apps at the home screen. Now, I am hoping that a third unit comew and works perfectly. Fingers crossed!
Wow, that makes me cringe already… I just decided to live with it, as the phone is otherwise OK and I don’t want to risk introducing another error with a replacement device; bought a bluetooth headphone and it seems to have no issues so far, and as long as I immediately unplug my headphones after stopping playback it’s OK, too. Weird, but at least I know where I’m standing…
Thanks for sharing!!!
I love my phone. I came from a Galaxy S5 which is of course an older model and I was expecting the FP3 to be similar as all reviews are so underwhelmed by the specs but it’s so much better! I also read that crabby Guardian review but I use my phone with Bluetooth headphones and also to play Spotify in my car and make phone calls. No problems whatsoever with the Bluetooth. Btw, the LED ‘problem’ seems to be described as a defect here, but it’s just a feature the phone doesn’t have (yet). Frankly, I find it much less distracting this way.
Edit: the camera is actually not as good as the one I had on the S5 based on the specs, but it has quite a nice range of different options and editing possibilities, and the ability to shoot awesome slowmotion and timelapse videos, so I still like it better than the S5 camera
Antonio, how did u go with your third phone?
I would like to know if you have disassembled your Fairphone 3 a lot?
I have already removed the battery and changed the SIM several times.
However, I wonder if the system performance (battery performance) can suffer.
On FP3 it may happen that you need to restart the phone almost every day or you won’t be able to place or take calls.
Customer support is not very helpful.
Fingerprint sensor is really BAD in my FF3.
The FF3 sensor seldom works properly. Sometimes (!) unlocks after 2 tries, but otherwise very often comes up with notification “Sensor dirty, clean it” but locks me out after several tries. Dunno if it is broken - support says “Wash your hands” (well, don’t really like to be treated like a dumb & dirty 5-year-old)
Had no problems with older and much cheaper budget phones under all different conditions, the FF3 is something else! At least mine, 3 month old, did not work properly from the start.
You are not alone.
It’s a very itchy sensor, sometimes triggers 5 times in a row because of some fussel or bad day or whatever, then locks out.
I’ve learned to be patient, gotta live with that quirk now…
I turned off the fingerprint sensor quite early on. I prefer using a code or pattern.
