Does Fairphone 5 support MHL?

Does Fairphone 5 support MHL?

I want to watch a video from my FP5 on a Samsung TV (without a smart TV).

Thanks and greetings

Hi,

If you mean the following: https://www.mhltech.org/

There is no clear indication in FP5 spec to suggest it does and nothing on the site above which confirms compatibility.

If I have a look at your link, it looks like the most devices listed there are outdated. I remember 10-12 years ago my Samsung devices had MHL.

@Marciano
The FP5 has USB-C 3.1 including DP-ALT mode (display port alternate) for the output of video.
So there probably will be no MHL but DP-ALT instead.
With this technology you can also connect your device directly to your TV. You just need an adapter cable like this:

This is no commercial, just the first example I’ve found.

EDIT
Here’s some info from Fairphone:

I did have a look at the official link for MHL and did see what you say old models. I’ve not seen MHL mentioned in phone specs for years and sure not found anything for FP5.

As you said desktop mode may be of use and could be tried… However, @Marciano you may wish to search the forum as user experience seems to be inconsistent.
