In the ‘unread’ section of the forum, if you have any unread topics, they show up there. Below the listing are two buttons: dismiss topics and dismiss posts. I understand these are to mark unread topics as read, but what is the difference between the two buttons?
If you hover over the buttons it gives a description:
- Dismiss Posts, resets the unread count on the topics but continues to track the topics in your unread list (so when new posts are made the topics will show back in the list)
- Dismiss Topics, stops showing topics in your unread list when new posts are made
