Disable charging LED

Hi,

I made a small patch to disable the charging LED (so you don’t have so much light pollution while you are sleeping  ).
repo download -c fp2-dev/platform/frameworks/base 21 repo download -c fp2-dev/platform/system/core 21

Great! I dislike that, too.

This looks like text for a command line. But how do I get to the command line?

You need to compile your own Fairphone Open OS version to get this, so
the command line on your build system. Have a look at

Shouldn’t that be super easy to patch into a new version of the software? Something like a toggle switch in the options or something? I thought Android would be highly customizable or so. My now five year old BlackBerry had the option via a little app to disable the LED or to time it (e.g. blink five times when a message arrives). I would really appreciate such an option!

It is super easy to disable, you just need to choose a way to do it. There are different ways, so just choose the solution you like most. Personally, I use Gravity Box since I had it installed already  (to choose an option, take a look here: https://forum.fairphone.com/search?q=charging%20led)

Thanks for the hint, @danielsjohan! But, correct me if I’m wrong, don’t
you need root and/or programming skills to use these workarounds? As I
am not that familiar with the security implications, I would like to not
root my FP2…

Best regards
Philipp

Yes, you need rood or programming skills.
I have rooted my phone, but if you don’t feel comfortable doing this, I’m afraid it will be harder to find a solution…
