Can't install Lyft

Hi, all. I’m here in California, so have a Fairphone 4 from Murena, running e/OS 2.7 - checked today to make sure it’s up to date. I’ve having a bizarre problem Installing Lyft through the App Lounge. It “installs,” but the icon on my screen has the App Lounge icon in the lower left of the Lyft icon, and when I click it it seems to start up but just has a screen that has a Get the App button. I click that and it takes me to a webpage that does nothing - no download, no install, nothing. Even weirder, Uber installs just fine, but Lyft gives better prices around here, so …

Has anyone else had this issue and found a way around it? Or does anyone have any ideas on what I should try? I’ve tried it with and without the SIM card, rebooted several times, tried different times over the last few weeks, all the same result. Help!

Hi,
i’m not familiar with /e/ or the App Lounge, but it would be a safer bet to get the App from the Google Play Store. It sounds like you installed a PWA (Progressive Web App) and/or you’re throughly degoogled.
Some Apps just need to have Google around :person_shrugging:
Good Luck,

Can you try to install the app through the Aurora store?

When I search for Lyft in the app lounge there are three hits, two of them are pwa apps as mentioned above.

Which one did you try to install and use?

The third one should be it. Even has a rating so it should be Google Play store page

Yes, exactly, bc if I run this app it works fine whereas if I choose one of the pwa versions it also just opens a web page with a button to install the app (which leads to an empty Web page).
So maybe there’s something wrong in the OPs web lounge so that the third option (the real app) is not offered.
