Cannot make or receive calls after latest update

After the latest update (18.02.0) I cannot make or receive calls anymore.
The phone tries to establish a connetion but aborts after 10 to 20 seconds.
A restart didn’t help.

Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

If it’s a software issue (as suggested by the fact that it happened after the update) you usually solve it by doing the following (go on after each step if it didn’t solve it):

• Clear cache and data of the phone app (in settings -> apps)
• Clear the system cache (in #dic:recoverymode)
• Manually reinstall the OS

If it’s not a software issue it’s most likely the SIM card I guess. Is it old (~2 years)? Maybe the phone heated up during the update and that gave the card the rest.

Indeed the phone got quite hot during update.

After removing and reassembling battery and sim it now works agian. Phew
