🏒 Canadian Fairphoners! 🇨🇦

Before boarding on my last flight München - Montreal we were told that all devices with batteries had to be in carry on. What were you told on your last flight from where to where?

And where is the carry on luggage during flight?

Where was yours on your last flight?

They have no sence of humor.

Sorry, I don’t know what you are trying to tell me.
I guess you know very well, that carry on luggage is during flight in the compartment over your head or in front of your feet, so:

you are in pole position.

If anything happened in the cabin it would be quickly noticed and delt with. How no Idea. There must be a precedure. If something happened in the cargo hole it may not be noticed until it is too late.

I’m quite sure, the cargo area is also under video surveillance. And the battery far away from you. Better than having it in the seat pocket in front of you or directly above your head.

I was only talking about how you can ship a FP4 (and presumably FP5 now or soon) to Canada with less effort than just a FP4 (or FP5) battery. Both have the same battery, so whether it spontaneously combusts or not is not really the problem. Though phone batteries do not spontaneously combust by themselves.

The battery of the Fairphone 4 doesn’t fit in the Fairphone 5, and visa versa. The size differs.

Yes sorry I meant the full FP4 phone has the same battery as just the FP4 battery, and same for the FP5

You will have to discuss that with the TSB it is their rules not mine.

Sorry, I have no clue, what you are trying tonten me. So I‘m out now, it’s off topic anyway.

. I drove from Eastern Nova Scotia to Ontario and back so I drove through Monteral area last December with a Fairphone 3 running e/OS connected to Eastlink which piggybacks off all the phone networks. no issues

Hi All. I’m completely new to this and would appreciate advice. I’m still using my flipphone from 2012 (for all the reasons Fairphone exists as an alternative) and have always intended to get a Fairphone once the flipphone gave up. Well it’s finally starting to play up a little and family are coming over from Europe this summer. So I figure now would be a good time to order a Fairphone 5 for them to bring over for me. I’ve used smartphones occasionally for work in the past but am basically new to both them and Fairphone. I’m in Eastern Ontario and with Virgin Mobile.
Any advice before I take the plunge would be appreciated. Thank you so much!

I’m in Ottawa and I use Virgin Mobile with my Fairphone 4. It’s using the Bell network, so coverage is pretty good and I haven’t had any issues (well, not since ~2 years at least). Fairphone 5 improves on it, so if you treat it well it should work great for years to come.

Great! I’m not sure if I’ve managed to Dm you. Please DM me if not.
I’m interested in buying your phone. How much are you looking for it and does it have any defects? Thanks  .
