You can find a list of resellers, that sold the FP2 and accessories in this thread:
Though not all will send batteries on their own overseas, as they are hazardous goods. E.g. ecosto did not deliver to Canada, if I recall it correctly.
There must be another thread with that question already.
Hello! I am new to this community and will be ordering an FP3 through Vireo shortly. I live in Montreal. Excited to share my experience when I get my hands on it
FYI - the shipping was cheaper from Clove (https://www.clove.co.uk/collections/smartphones-fairphone). Overall cost was about $50 CAD less. The taxes/duties were about $45, and I ordered mine on Tuesday and got it on Friday! Couldnât believe how quick they got that moving. It wasnât an expedited shipping option or anythingâŠ
Iâm so happy this thread continues to grow years later with more Canadian Fairphoners! Yes! My Fairphone 2 is still going strong in Ontario on Fido Carrier.
Hey, I got my Fairphone 3 last week (a friend of mine was in Germany) and itâs working like a charm with Fizz in Quebec city! The FP3 is way better then my FP2 for calling, wifi and Bluetooth.
I sill have my FP2 (still working) and it was also good with Fizz, but not the 3G. The 3G worked with Fido back in the days.
Just wondering if there is anyone with a Fairphone 3 that lives in Toronto, Ontario in Canada that would be willing to let me see the phone in person?
I am planning to order one from the Clove website (thank you to @teleute for the recommendation!). Before making such a significant purchase, I would really like to be able see the phone first.
If anyone is able to assist please let me know. Thank you!
Really pleased to find this community of fellow Canadians here. I donât have a Fairphone yet but I am looking to get a FP2, ideally for use with Ubuntu Touch. Iâd be interested to hear from fellow Canadians who have used that combo and any advice on purchasing from over here.
I finally received my FP3! I placed the order through Clove Co as suggested by @teleute , and I have to say it was an easy and fast experience through and through. Ordered last Wednesday and got it this Monday with DHL, customs paid online.
I had to purchase a Qualcomm 3 quick charge charger at La Source since our current chargers were not optimal. I simply popped my Koodo SIM card in there and voila, it picked up the 4G network and I havenât had an issue since. I will keep an eye on those bars when I travel away from the city.
Iâm extremely pleased so far with the whole experience! Thanks to everyone in here for your help and insight.
If this works better with the FP3, would you mind to share some more information on this specific item as there seem to be many FP3 users here a bit struggling to find a compatible charger since the one Fairphone used to offer in their shop is momentarily out?
For the FP2 at last a diligent user made up something like this.
But we should start collecting information to have some for a list.
There is an extensive list of USB approved usb c cords and qualcomm 3 quick chargers on here, but I did end up going on a limb and bought their home brand they had in store at my local La Source (which qualified for qualcomm 3 and 3A output recommendations) :
I also got their Vital brand usb-c cord. It all seems pretty standradized.
I cannot configure it correctly for Fizz (videotron reseller actually). I have a Fairphone 3 since 2 days. Can you help me but telling me how you did the config ? Thanks in advanced.
I just tried to order from Clove. My credit card company flagged it as fraud but then once I cleared it up and placed my order Clove contacted me and asked from a scanned driverâs license or authorization code (which my credit card company does not provide). Then I got all paranoid that Clove wasnât a real company, can anyone confirm that itâs legit?!
Seems super sketchy that they ask for this. Anyone else have this experience ordering from the UK/ Europe?
How did you deal with this?
Thanks,
