Calls from non-blocked number get blocked

Today, I noticed that my FP5 blocks calls from an important contact in my contact list.
I did not block this number and the feature for blocking and spam stuff is not enabled in the Calls App.

Does anyone have an idea what to try next?

Chain of events:

  1. Contact starts call
  2. Contact sees that the line is occupied
  3. I get a message that the number tried to call me
  4. I see the missed call in the call log and that the call was blocked

Did you check what is set as default spam-protection-app in Android? Settings > Apps > Default Apps

I now did  It is set to “None”

Do not be mistaken. It is “None” and has been “None” all the time. So the problem is not solved …

How old is your SIM card?

Maybe try to disable VoLTE/4G Calling

Not that old, I’d guess, about 4years?
I now tried disabling 4G calls and setting the preferred network to 2G. Both without success.

I just noticed you didn’t say that you checked if the number is blocked manually (maybe by accident). This should be possible by long-tapping an entry in the call history. It also could be somewhere else, e.g. in the contacts-app.

While long tapping only allowed me to block the number and report it as spam, your comment of an accidental manual block gave me the idea to just delete the contact and re-add it.

This worked.

So Thank You (also to @yvmuell)

Even if not the issue here, in general 4 years is old for a SIM card.

Never thought of this. Do you have a source for that?

FP advises this in their support articles.
