I’ve been a happy user of a FP3 for quite a few years. Now it it is time to move to a new one, so I’m planning to acquire a FP6. I saw 2 OS choices: Android or Murena /e/OS.
My question is: is there a place where I can verify whether some Apps I’m currently using with my FP3 with android are available/compatible with Murena /e/OS ?
Generally speaking, you will get the most helpul information on your question the more specific you are (read: name the apps most important to you). I also think the Murena forum might return even more feedback. It already includes a user-compiled list of banking apps experience:
However, bear in mind this is usually a snapshot at one particular point of time. App developers keep changing security settings and technology and custom ROMs like /e/OS do their best to follow suit and work to keep them working without Google requirements, but this cannot always work and can take while to restore. Android OS always offers the highest level of compatibility (which you are probably aware of …).
And for the record: I use /e/OS myself and while I cannot provide any first-hand experience with banking apps, I can say that so far I have only had one app (“AOK Mein Leben” – electronic patient file) that refuses to work because I am using this custom ROM.
For many users the issue is with apps that use some Google service.
So, in addition here a general list of apps how they perform with microG
As @urs_lesse already stated, these entries are not always up-to date. So if you have certain indispensable apps, then better ask directly in the Murena forum if others have specific experiences.
